My perspective is that of someone who has followed different internet artists for quite a bit and as such I did notice your art changed significantly overtime. I was there around those tumblr days, for the record.
I cannot tell you if it was an improvement, because all of that depends on what you want to do and what audience you want to cater to. What I can tell you is what changes I've noticed and how I've been reading them.
As others mentioned, the developed style is now much more free. It let go of some detail/anatomy and seems to try and make up for it with the overall shape and gesture. This redraw is in fact a total reinterpretation and supports this theory, I do not feel the gesture and expressions are anywhere near the same. Details from 2016 like the nose bump, nipple protrusion, elbow, leather straps, shoulder blades, all either went down or disappeared; but there's more (new?) gesture with arched back, raised shoulder, open mouth, colored pupils with halfway shut eyelids, and wild hair.
Coloring style also changed a lot of over time, there used to be way less colors and shades, but way more contrast which made details really stand out. The colors on the 2016 girl are almost flat for sure, but the contrast between her skin against her straps and hair/tail are fierce. There's still several light hints of purple which lead the viewer's eyes to fine, subtle details across specific parts of the drawing. My eyes get completely lost in the 2022 girl colors, there's a constant mix of similar tones and values throughout her but it doesn't lead me anywhere specific, it instead teases me to unfocus and look at the overall shape.
Again, I'm not saying it's better, or worse. I think you have enough time on the road to tell what is better for yourself. But it's definitely different, and I thought it would be interesting to point out exactly what has changed for me.
